Dallas Theological Seminary Announces Collaboration with Arizona Christian University

Dallas TX— November 19th, 2020 — Dallas Theological Seminary is honored to announce our collaboration with Arizona Christian University on an innovative academic program allowing students to earn a bachelor's degree from ACU and a master's degree from DTS in just 5 to 6 years. Known as our 4+1 and 4+2 programs, students who graduate with a Bachelor of Arts in Biblical Studies from ACU qualify for both dual credit and advanced standing at DTS, allowing them to complete a master’s degree in substantially less time than usual.

"For 96 years, DTS has been training students in the Word of God and preparing them for ministry, and we have learned a lot about what our students need. We know that attending seminary requires a substantial commitment of both time and money, which is why we are excited to collaborate with ACU to give students a faster and more affordable pathway to earning a seminary degree and entering the ministry field. We know that ACU students participating in these joint 4+1 and 4+2 programs come to us prepared for seminary—having both a strong theological foundation and a heart for serving the Lord. This is truly a 'win-win' for the students, our institutions, and the Body of Christ," said George Hillman, VP for Education at Dallas Theological Seminary.

Earn a Bachelor's and a Master's in 5 to 6 Years

Students can now benefit from the ACU/DTS academic collaboration by earning a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Biblical and Theological Studies from Arizona Christian University and one of several MA degrees from Dallas Theological Seminary in five years. Normally, those MA degrees would require 2-3 years of coursework to complete. For students who are interested in earning their Master of Theology (ThM) or Master of Arts in Chaplaincy and Ministry Care (MACP) they can participate in the 4+2 program and complete those degrees in just two additional years beyond their BA degree.
