Dallas Theological Seminary welcomes several new, returning, and promoted faculty members to its teaching and leadership ranks for the fall 2015 semester.

Full-Time Faculty Appointments

Dr. Alex Gonzales, Assistant Professor of Bible Exposition–Houston

Dr. Gonzales has spent twenty years teaching English around the world—in London, Guadalajara, Cochabamba (Bolivia), Tokyo, and Tainan (Taiwan). The former Dallas Baptist University and Liberty University professor enjoys reading, writing, and running. He held UCLA’s record for the 1,500 meter event in track and was involved with the Fellowship of Christian Athletes ministry for many years.  Dr. Gonzales and his wife, Deedy, have two adult children.

Dr. Jonathan Murphy, Assistant Professor of Pastoral Ministries

Born in Belfast, Northern Ireland, Jonathan spent his youth as a “missionary kid” in the Canary Islands. After serving as a pastor in Northern Ireland, he joined Sacra Script—a ministry that produces Christ-centered Bible studies. He cheers for Ulster and Ireland in rugby, and Spain in football, and he especially loves books that relate to World War II. As a DTS student, he earned the William M. Anderson Award for excellence in the doctoral program and the Lorraine Chafer Award in the ThM program. He and his wife, Sarah, have three young children.

Nate McKanna, Director of Admissions

ThM – New Testament Studies, DTS, 2015

Nate McKanna has been promoted to director of Admissions after serving with the department since 2011. He loves spending time with his wife and two kids, watching and playing sports, and cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes. He also confesses to loving reruns of the television show Frasier. As a ThM graduate, he earned the Henry C. Thiessen Award in New Testament and the Lewis Sperry Chafer Award for outstanding Christian character and spiritual leadership.
