Pastor Marty Baker is the Senior Pastor at Burke Community Church in Burke, VA, a suburb of Washington, D.C. After graduating from Azusa Pacific University in 1980, he married Liz Saly. He attended Dallas Theological Seminary and received a ThM Degree in 1985. He received a Doctorate of Ministry in Apologetics from Southern Evangelical Seminary in 2018. He has over 30 years of pastoral experience, in addition to being a chaplain for 1,300 sheriff officers, speaking for the National Day of Prayer at the Pentagon in 2014, mentoring command staff Army chaplains at the Pentagon, serving as a Trustee for five years at Southern Evangelical Seminary and speaking on transgenderism at the National Apologetics Conference in Charlotte, N.C. in 2019. He has enjoyed a ministry in the challenging political and spiritual environment of this nation’s capital for fifteen years.
