Announcement from the Presidential Search Committee:

Dallas Theological Seminary has officially begun the presidential search process to find the successor to current president, Dr. Mark Bailey, who recently announced he will retire on June 30, 2020. (Dr. Bailey’s full announcement is available here). As previously reported, the Presidential Search Committee has been established by the Board of Incorporate Members and is chaired by board member David Stevens. The search committee, with the approval of the Board of Trustees, has selected one of the nation’s leading executive recruiting firms, The Dingman Company, to give professional assistance in the search process for DTS's sixth president.

The search for DTS’s sixth president will be led by Mr. Bruce Dingman and Dr. David Gyerston. Mr. Dingman, a proven leader in executive recruitment, has conducted 17 presidential searches for evangelical seminaries, colleges, and universities. Dr. Gyertson, who has served as president of Asbury University, Taylor University, and Regent University, has often teamed with Mr. Dingman for executive searches in Christian higher education. Most recently, they worked together to lead the presidential search at Moody Bible Institute, resulting in a unanimous selection decision.

Mr. Dingman and Dr. Gyertson will be on campus in January to meet various internal stakeholders (board, staff, faculty, and students) and gather pertinent information through personal and townhall meetings. By early February, the official Opportunity Profile for prospective presidential candidates will be available on the seminary website (www.DTS.edu), and DTS will announce an open invitation to submit potential candidates to The Dingman Company.

As we embark on this search for a sixth president, we would greatly appreciate your prayers for the search consultants, the Presidential Search Committee members, the candidates, and our entire seminary family. It is our belief that God will bring the right leader “for such a time as this” (Esther 4:14).
