For senior preaching week we are joined by Bob Harrison. Today Bob shares that an effective ministry is both incarnation and relational as he looks at 1 Thessalonians 1:1-10.

Richard “Bob” Harrison

Bob has been married to his wife Alissa. They just celebrated 14 years in March. They have five children. Hannah (11), Joshua (9), Hunter (7), Hailey (5), and Benjamin (3).

Bob’s hometown is Gardner, Kansas, just outside of Kansas City.

After DTS, he plans on serving as the director of a ministry called The Bridge in Kansas City, which is a direct result from the project he completed in EML5101 Desiging and Leading Effective Ministries. The mission of “The Bridge” is to provide fellowship and training to encourage and equip recent college graduates to represent Jesus where they live work and play.

Preaching, for Bob, has always been an opportunity to trust God in greater ways, with the process and delivery as well as the results of presenting God’s word.

His best memory from DTS is passing Hebrew! haha) But seriously, he has loved the teaching environment-the opportunity to be in classrooms, to learn, and to grow in his understanding and faith has been a true joy… A lot of work, but worthwhile work that he knows God has used in his life and in the lives of people around him. For all of that, he is grateful.
