Rachel Mathew serves as the Executive Assistant to the Dean and Budget Manager at Dallas Theological Seminary – Houston campus. As a 3rd generation Houstonian, Rachel loves getting to labor for DTS’ global mission in her hometown. Rachel has a B.S. in Neuroscience from Trinity University (2014) and eagerly anticipates graduating with her Masters in Theology from DTS in just a few weeks. She has many incredible memories of her time at DTS, from getting to light the candle as the “lady of the house” in a DTS seder, to co-publishing a short academic work with a beloved professor—she’s been so honored by the genuine affection and care from the faculty. She has been married to her favorite coworker Dr. Jay Mathew since May 2023, and enjoys giving him long, detailed reports of what birds she has seen in their backyard. As for the preaching task, Rachel loves the deep dive into God’s word to discern what core principles the Lord wants to communicate to his people. After graduation, Rachel plans to continue working at DTS and dreams of pursuing a PhD in a few years.
