Dr. Charles Dickens, chair of the Biblical Counseling department, shares with us an examination of the distinctiveness of Christian love and challenge to transform our relationships.

Dr. Chip Dickens earned his Bachelors of Science from Texas Wesleyan, before earning both his Master of Arts and PhD from SMU, in 1993 & 1995 respectively. Prior to joining the faculty, Dr. Dickens served as associate pastor in the areas of pastoral care and counseling. He also served on the faculty of Biola University and taught seminary and graduate-level courses internationally in Austria, Hong Kong, and Sri Lanka. Dr. Dickens is professionally active in the American Association of Christian Counselors and acts as a contributing editor for the Journal of Psychology and Theology. He is married to Rebecca and they have two children: Joshua and Jillian.
