Promises to Survive DTS By

Dr. Rick Calenberg, Professor of World Missions and Intercultural Studies, reminds us that when the fears and anxieties of study and life overwhelm us, God’s promises in Isaiah 41:10 can give us encouragement.

Dr. Calenberg has been teaching Bible, theology, and missions since 1974 including 16 years on the faculty of Moody Bible Institute and Theological Seminary. In 1984, he and his family joined SIM and moved to Nigeria to serve on the faculty of Jos ECWA Theological Seminary. His ten years of missionary service in Nigeria included evangelism and church planting with his seminary students and three years as SIM Nigeria Director. For 12 years he served as SIM Northwest Regional Director in Portland, Oregon and as an adjunct faculty member at Multnomah University. He ministers in the countries of Africa and Asia as the International Director of the Romans Project, a pastoral training and resourcing ministry focused on the Book of Romans. He and his wife, Carol, have four daughters, three sons-in-law, and eight grandchildren.
