Since this commentary was first published in 1992, almost one hundred new studies on Philippians have been published. Therefore the author felt it would be helpful to interact with many of these works, though this is mostly limited to the footnotes.

The exposition is largely unchanged, except for some stylistic matters. As in the first edition each passage of several verses is introduced by a summary, followed by “Exegesis and Exposition.” Then “Additional Notes” discuss Greek terms and phrases.

Pastors and teachers will appreciate this excellent conservative commentary on the Epistle to the Philippians.
