About the Contributors

Bill Hendricks

Bill Hendricks is Executive Director for Christian Leadership at the Center and President of The Giftedness Center, where he serves individuals making key life and career decisions. A graduate of Harvard, Boston University, and DTS, Bill has authored or co-authored twenty-two books, including “The Person Called YOU: Why You’re Here, Why You Matter & What You Should Do With Your Life.” He sits on the Steering Committee for The Theology of Work Project.

J. Carl Laney

Dr. J. Carl Laney (MDiv., ThM., ThD.) is professor emeritus at Western Seminary where he served as a Bible professor for forty years (1977-2018) after graduating with his doctorate in Bible Exposition from Dallas Theological Seminary. 

In addition to his teaching, Carl has served as interim pastor for many different churches. His most recent books include Essential Bible Background, Biblical Wisdom, The Story of Israel, The Story of Jesus, The Story of the Bible, The Story of Daniel, and The Daring Dozen: Twelve Men Who Spoke for God. Carl also enjoys taking seminary students and other Christian groups to Israel to study God’s Word in the land of the Bible.  

Carl and his wife, Nancy, have been blessed with four adult children and seven wonderful grandchildren.
