Dr. Brian Lam pastors one of the fastest growing Asian-American churches in America. His church, Fort Bend Community Church, is located in the Houston area and provides services in three different languages—Mandarin, Cantonese, and English—to meet the needs of a richly diverse community. Dr. Lam’s heart for cross-cultural evangelism is key in winning this culture for Christ.
Dr. Brian Lam was born and raised in Hong Kong. He came to Houston in 1975 to study at UH in Computer Science. Upon graduation, he felt the call of God to go into full-time ministry. He received the Master of Theology in 1982 and the Doctor of Ministry in 1993 from Dallas Theological Seminary. He served at Houston Chinese Church for 15 years before planting Fort Bend Community Church (FBCC) in 1997 with the mission to pursue the heart of God through growing communities of Christ-like disciples and to reach all people. FBCC is an ethnic Chinese church with Chinese from diverse backgrounds in Fort Bend County, the most ethnically diverse county in the United States. Dr. Lam received the DTS-Houston Impact Award in 2014 for his impact in local church ministry. Dr. Lam also serves as the adjunct professor at Dallas Theological Seminary Chinese program and also teaching at Logos Theological Seminary in LA, Christian Witness Theological Seminary in San Jose, and China Graduate School of Theology in Hong Kong. Pastor Brian is married to Lily, one of the first group of women graduated from DTS in 1982, and they have two grown children.
