Teach Us to Pray
Dr. Timothy Ralston, Professor of Pastoral Ministries, communicates that when you pray, seek God’s priority and your purity.
Dr. Ralston grew up in Canada, graduated from the University of Waterloo, and then completed his Master of Theology and Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Biblical Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary. He served as a pastor in Canada for several years before returning to Dallas Seminary 25 years ago to teach communication skills and church leadership. Tim and his wife, Carol, have two daughters living in Philadelphia. Briana is a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania and Alyssa is a Freshman at Drexel University. In his spare time Dr. Ralston relaxes as a scuba diving instructor with International Scuba (Carrolton) and as an Emergency First Response trainer for Dallas-area churches and organizations. Tim was born in Canada and grew up there as the youngest of three children. He and his wife, Carol, met in college and married upon graduation in 1979. Finishing a Master of Theology degree from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1983, they returned to Canada and pastored for five years. Coming back to Dallas Seminary to pursue a PhD in Biblical Studies in 1988, he was hired as a faculty member in the Department of Pastoral Ministries. He has taught three ever since. Tim and Carol have two daughters: Briana (a PhD student at the University of Pennsylvania) and Alyssa (a senior at Garland High School). When not busy with family events or fulfilling seminary duties, Tim teaches Scuba diving with International Scuba in Carrollton and serves as an Emergency First Response instructor for churches and schools in the DFW area.
