Even when we are committed to Christ, demonstrated by our loyalty amid our trials, Satan will seek to influence us and can persuade us more easily than we may think (1 Corinthians 10:12). We must remain alert and sober as we strive to serve the Lord each moment of the day (2 Timothy 4:6-8). This process perfects us and blesses those whom we serve.

Dr. Paul Cannings is the founder and Senior Pastor of Living Word Fellowship Church in Houston, TX. He has provided spiritual leadership to over 4,700 members and has published thirteen (13) books, with his newest book, Leaders in Heels, soon to be released in October. He has implemented the vision of cultivating a loving, united community of believers whose mission is to serve the neighboring community, America, and the world for our Lord Jesus Christ. He founded Power Walk Ministries, a national and global leadership training resource. He holds a Doctorate in Philosophy and Theological Studies in Religion and Society from Omega Graduate School in Dayton, TN, with course work at Oxford University in England, and a ThM in Christian Education from Dallas Theological Seminary. Dr. Cannings and his wife Everette are the parents of two adult sons, Paul Jr. and Pierre, who are married to Tanisha and Monica, respectively. They have seven grandchildren.
