Greg Sankey

A native of Auburn, New York, Greg Sankey earned his master’s degree from Syracuse University and his undergraduate degree from the State University of New York College at Cortland.  After serving with the Southeastern Conference (SEC) for a number of years, Mr. Sankey became the 8th commissioner in 2015. Under his leadership, the division has won 19 national championships in 12 different sports. The SEC is the first conference to place two of its teams in the College Football Playoff National Championship Game, which it did during the Alabama-Georgia matchup this past January. Go dawgs! Greg and his wife of nearly 30 years, Cathy, reside in Birmingham, AL, and have two adult daughters, Hannah, a Louisville, Kentucky meteorologist and Moriah, a recent graduate of Wheaton College.
