About the Contributors

Andrew Seidel

Andrew B. Seidel

Dr. Andrew B. Seidel served as executive director of the Hendricks Center at Dallas Seminary for fifteen years, which provides leadership training and development for seminary students as well as ministry and business leaders. A graduate of West Point and a colonel in the U.S. Army, Dr. Seidel was senior pastor at Grace Bible Church in College Station, Texas, for fourteen years. He left the pastorate to provide leadership training for pastors on the mission field in Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. Today he continues to work in Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia with Entrust (formerly BEE International). The author of Charting a Bold Course; Training Leaders for 21st Century Ministry, Dr. Seidel and his wife Gail Norris Seidel have been married for more than fifty years and have two married children and six grandchildren.

Andy Wileman

Andy has been on staff at Grace Bible Church since 1993 and current serves Senior Pastor. Formerly, he was the first executive director of the Center for Christian Leadership at Dallas Theological Seminary. While working for the Seminary, he started attending Grace Bible Church. He has two grown daughters who are married and five grandchildren. Andy has many interests including studying leadership and history, enjoying jazz music and cheering the Longhorns. Andy believes followers of Christ should take themselves less seriously, while taking the Lord much more seriously.

Bill Hendricks

Bill Hendricks is Executive Director for Christian Leadership at the Center and President of The Giftedness Center, where he serves individuals making key life and career decisions. A graduate of Harvard, Boston University, and DTS, Bill has authored or co-authored twenty-two books, including “The Person Called YOU: Why You’re Here, Why You Matter & What You Should Do With Your Life.” He sits on the Steering Committee for The Theology of Work Project.

Brad Smith

Dr. Brad Smith is the Chancellor of Bakke Graduate University and the Director of Alliance Engagement for the World Evangelical Alliance. 

Darrell L. Bock

Dr. Bock has earned recognition as a Humboldt Scholar (Tübingen University in Germany), is the author of over 40 books, including well-regarded commentaries on Luke and Acts and studies of the historical Jesus, and work in cultural engagement as host of the seminary’s Table Podcasts. He was president of the Evangelical Theological Society (ETS) from 2000–2001, served as a consulting editor for Christianity Today, and serves on the boards of Wheaton College and Chosen People Ministries. His articles appear in leading publications. He is often an expert for the media on NT issues. Dr. Bock has been a New York Times best-selling author in nonfiction and is elder emeritus at Trinity Fellowship Church in Dallas. When traveling overseas, he will tune into the current game involving his favorite teams from Houston—live—even in the wee hours of the morning. Married for over 40 years to Sally, he is a proud father of two daughters and a son and is also a grandfather.

Kymberli Cook

Kymberli Cook is the Assistant Director of the Hendricks Center, overseeing the workflow of the department, online content creation, Center events, and serving as Giftedness Coach and Table Podcast Host. She is also a doctoral student in Theological Studies at Dallas Theological Seminary, pursuing research connected to unique individuality, the image of God, and providence. When she is not reading for work or school, she enjoys coffee, cooking, and spending time outdoors with her husband and daughters.

William D. Lawrence

Dr. Bill Lawrence graduated from DTS with a ThM in 1964 and with a ThD in 1968. He has been married to Lynna since 1965, is the father of three married sons and the grandfather of five granddaughters and three grandsons. Bill, along with Lynna and three other couples, founded South Hills Community Church in San Jose, California. He served that church for twelve years, and saw it to grow to 800 and was able to send over 90 men and women into full time ministry. He taught in the Pastoral Ministries Department at DTS for 24 years after which he founded Leader Formation International and has served in over 40 countries around the world. He has also served on the board of OC International for 46 years and on the RREACH (Ramesh Richard) board for 20 years.
